Give Hope

Being the light

Safer Communities Ministry would never have successfully made a difference in the trajectory of so many lives without the generosity of people willing to join our mission.

Whether it’s through donations or volunteering, you can make a difference. And we are forever grateful.

Donation Opportunities

When you invest in us, you invest in a life. You can make a secure contribution in several ways:

  • One-Time Gift

  • You can donate any one-time financial amount that works for you.

  • Monthly Giving

  • If you would like to make an ongoing financial commitment, we can set up automatic monthly donations in the amount you choose.
  • In-kind Donations

  • We’re always in need of supplies, especially for our Shine children’s program, such as backpacks, school supplies, food, Christmas gifts, and more!

Volunteer Opportunities

“The thing that impacted me the most about the volunteers coming from SCM was the appearance of hope. One volunteer came in on Christmas day and gave me a hug—and I needed that.”
~ Chris Dukes, SCM Client

Our outreach to inmates, ex-offenders, and their families continues to expand. And so does our need for volunteers. Experience isn’t necessary—we provide training. We are always in need of volunteers to help us renew hope for those who need us most. Example volunteer areas include:

  • Conduct Bible studies (in and outside jail)
  • Conduct Celebrate Recovery sessions
  • Peer group support (for addicts)
  • Spiritual Mentoring (in and outside jail)
  • Tutors & Mentors (Shine, Celebration Place, Celebration Landing programs)
  • And so much more
“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

“The Lord can use you in ways you don’t expect. You can make a difference.”

Giles Almond – Volunteer

“What I try to be to these ladies [in jail] is someone who sees them as a real person.”

Nancy Darsey – Volunteer
